Three new Mithril Miniatures LOTR Summer 2017 releases

MZ634 Easterling Shaman - May 2016 Winning idea

MZ636 Thror with the Arkenstone - July 2016 Winning idea.

Bombur at The Battle of Five Armies miniature
MZ637 Bombur at The Battle of Five Armies - August 2016 Winning idea.
Mithril Miniatures has released three new 32mm scale metal figures in July 2017.  This is the third release this year. These are from the Fellowship club winners from about a year ago.
Bombur is a well known Dwarven character that followed Thorin Oakenshield on his quest to defeat Smaug, a Dragon, and reclaim their ancient treasure from the mountain lair.

Thror was the grandsire of Thorin Oakenshield, and is shown holding the great white gem, the Arkenstone. This gem was so cherished by Thorin that it drove him to madness.

Finally the Easterling shaman continues the tradition of adding unusual characters to the Mithril line. Easterlings were allied to Mordor and shamans practiced their spirituality using drums to invoke trances as part of their rituals.

All three figures are metal, and some, not all, are primed. All require a little assembly. There are only 100 available each at this time and there are duplicate discount offers available.

New Year 2017 Sale on Prince August moulds.

Prince August has just started a large sale on many products today (Jan 17th), including reducing some moulds to just 1 Euro (exc. tax). However stock is very limited so first come first served. We have put the stock numbers up on the sale too, so you can see what is available per sale item.

Also Prince August has reintroduced our Lucky Dip Mould bags. Each bag contains five random moulds. There are no documentation with these moulds but they are all unused. There are less than 20 bags for sale and as I write this that number has already dropped almost in half.
This sale will end at noon on Jan 24th 2017, unless we sell out before the weekend, which is possible.

Bank of Ireland Enterprise Exhibition in Macroom Cork with Dr Eva Orsmond & Lars Edman

Lars Edman & Dr Eva Orsmond cast witches at the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Exhibit.
With a history of growing up in Scandinavia and sharing the nordic tradition of casting in white metal, Lars Edman helps Dr Eva Orsmond cast little witches from Prince August moulds (Halloween Decorations) at the recent Bank of Ireland Enterprise Exhibition in Macroom, County Cork.

There are also other Halloween decorations available too, including a Spooky Ghost, Scary Black Cat and a Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin. Each mould can be reused hundreds of times and the figures have little loops to hang them from ribbons or chains if desired.

The Toy Soldier Factory is now the oldest factory in the area, allowing customers to cast their own Halloween figures when they visit (via seasonal workshops).

New Release | Seven Years War French Infantry Moulds in December 2016.

Seven Years War French Infantry moulds released Dec 2016.

Prince August has previously released Prussian, Austrian, Hungarian Regiments in the Austrian army and finally Russian army moulds. Overdue but finally released, the French army is a welcome addition to this expanding 40mm scale range that focuses on the mid-eighteenth century international war that swept the known world.
These French moulds can cast fusiliers and grenadiers with and without turnbacks on their coats, as well as drummers, NCOs, standard bearers and officers.
As expected these moulds have interchangeable parts so there is more flexibility than first meets the eye.
As a bonus Prince August is offering all four moulds in a bundle with 10% discount on R.R.P.

The previous release (Russians) are also now available as an 100+ Army Pack deal, which includes 20 bars of metal so you can cast up to 100 soldiers for as little as 1.21 Euro (ex. tax) per soldier.
Pretty amazing value.

Clearance Sale + Black Friday Sale 2016

Clearance Sale on Mithril Miniatures.
Clearance Sale on Mithril Miniatures.
Mithril Miniatures is planning to produce a lot more miniatures in 2017. We had run into technical snags with the changeover to 3D printing that slowed us down in 2016, but we are overcoming these challenges one by one.
However we need room, so we ran a poll on 100 miniatures we currently still manufacture and asked which we should keep and which should be retired. We selected from that list those most popular to retire from ongoing manufacture and have marked them down by up to 60% off.
Once they clear they will never be available on our website again so if you are a collector of LOTR miniatures you might wish to grab these excellent bargains before they are gone for good.

Also since Black Friday is fast approaching we have marked down all our miniatures in the following ranges or categories by 50%. All of these are limited and when sold out will not be produced anymore.
The categories are:

The Black Friday sale ends at midnight Cyber Monday (Nov 28th) 2016 GMT.

Mithril Miniatures releases three new figures in October '16.

UPDATE Jan 1st 2017: These three figures have been redone using traditional methods and thus will not have the 'MZ' prefix but default to the 'MS' only.
The first figure is a toy peddler from the town of Dale, before Smaug redecorated it with flame. We have named it MS625 Erebor Dwarven Merchant with toys.
Erebor Dwarven Merchant with toys.

The next figure, November 2015 winning idea, is the Easterling Champion MS627. Easterlings are allied to Mordor but fight in the old fashioned but honorable style of Champion vs Champion.

Easterling Champion

The final figure for September is King Dain Ironfoot MS628, a warrior without peer that aided Thorin Oakenshield during the Battle of the Five Armies.

King Dain Ironfoot.

There are 100 of each of these in production at present. Each are primed and MS627 does require a little assembly (shield and arm). They are all 32mm scale metal miniatures.

Helm's Deep III | The fire of Orthanc - five new 32mm scale metal figures

Helm's Deep 3 - the fire of Orthanc

The walls of Helm's Deep had stood the test of time and the heat of battle, at least until the wicked inventiveness of Saruman was pitted against it. Orcs sacrifice themselves to blow open a pathway to the inner keep, allowing them to storm the once impregnable fortress that protects the most vulnerable of Rohan's population.

This new release from Mithril Miniatures will have five new figures and they will be numbered M541 to M545. They were designed using the traditional method of clay sculpting. They will be primed 32mm scale metal miniatures.

Currently they are pending approval by Middle-earth Enterprises.

New Mithril Lord of the Rings releases | Rumil and Female Orc Archer metal miniatures.

Mithril Miniatures broke with their tradition a little today with their latest two releases of 32mm scale Lord of the Rings metal miniatures. These two great ideas were not winning ideas but were inspired by comments made during the voting process. Chris Tubb decided to make them and so left a space in the numbering of releases to allow them to have a place later on when he had time to sculpt them.

Rumil, brother of Haldir, was a guardian of the forest around Lothlorien and silently protected Galadriel's realm from all dangers during the war of the Ring. An Elven archer can kill you before you even know you are in danger. This figure was numbered Ms594.

Chris Tubb explains his reasons behind this unique sculpt of a Female Orc archer (Ms595):
The second piece was inspired by Luthien4tinuvielle’s entry Ishi-ul the female Orc shaman, which was the winner in February 2014. Her comment “not a single female Orc in the whole Mithril range” set me to thinking what else could be made to redress this lack. I have a penchant for bowmen (as you can see from Rumil above) so I decided on a female Orc archer. So now we have two female Orcs in the range!

Mithril has a bulk discount available for a limited time on both new releases.

Rhudaur Northman Mercenary | New LOTR Mithril miniature 2016

Mithril Miniatures released in January 2016 last January's winning idea, submitted by 'orc', a Fellowship member.
Rhudaur was the perfect land for mercenaries as law and order had broken down there, governorship was non existent and there was a steady diet of conflict between other states like Arthedain and Cardolan against the evils of the Witch-king. Only the bravest or most fortunate survived in such chaos as loyalties shifted like the tides.
This 32mm scale metal miniature is primed and will require a little assembly.

New Mithril Releases | Thorin and Roac & Angbor of Lamedon metal figures available in December 2015.

Mithril Miniatures has released in December 2015 two more winning ideas from their Fellowship club. These ideas were suggested by and voted on by members of that club last year.
Thorin and Roac | Mithril Miniatures metal figure.

The first one is Thorin and Roac. Roac is an intelligent Raven that acted as an intelligence gathering agent for the Dwarves and especially Thorin Oakenshield.

Angbor of Lamedon | Mithril Miniatures metal figure.

The second release is Angbor of Lamedon, a Lord of one of Gondor's provinces. He lead his small army against the landing parties of Corsairs during the War of the Ring until releaved by Aragorn with his army of dead. He then brought his forces to the capital, Minas Tirith, to assist in resisting the besieging Mordorian armies.

Both of these fine miniatures were designed by Chris Tubb and will require a small amount of assembly. They are pre-primed.

RTE Nationwide coverage of the Toy Soldier Factory and Battle of Waterloo Exhibit 14th October 2015

At the start of August 2015 RTE showed interest in including our Toy Soldier Factory in one of their upcoming Nationwide programs. Several staff were interviewed and so was André Rudolph, the creator of the huge Battle of Waterloo diorama currently on exhibit in our visitor center.

Finally on October 14th 2015, the program aired and we were shown in the second half of that episode. We are very pleased with the segment and are grateful to those involved with RTE for having shared our business with the rest of their audience.

With that in mind Prince August has cut the prices of their bargain starter kits by 50% until noon on October 21st 2015 UTC+1.

New Release | 3 Battle of Waterloo leaders as 25mm scale primed metal figures

Prince August recently started hosting a huge diorama of the Battle of Waterloo at their Toy Soldier Factory Visitor Center, and realised that they had never made the three leaders of the major powers that took part in that historical battle, even though they had a wide selection of rubber moulds for casting the soldiers and regular officers.
This inspired them to produce these and make them available to allow other wargamers or historical diorama builders to have these legendary men as part of their vision.
The three leaders are as follows: Prussian Field Marshal Blücher, French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and the Allied British Commander, Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington.

French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte
These three figures are mounted and pre-primed so as soon as you get them you can paint them. The rider and horse are not glued or cast together to allow for an easier time in painting all the details before final assembly.
Allied British Commander Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington
Prince August has also catered for those collectors that do not want to paint the figures themselves and have options where a customer can choose whether they want a hand painted figure, antique finished figure or the default primed figure. A simple tick box makes this selection a snap.

For the next 4 days or so Prince August is also giving the primed figures away for FREE when someone purchases one of their Army Packs. For each army pack chosen there is an option to select ONE leader as well. An army pack is a great bundle deal that includes metal with a selection of moulds at a low price that allows you to cast an army at unbeatable rates.
This offer expires at noon on October 13th 2015 UTC+1.

Tragedy Strikes at the heart of new Battle of Waterloo Exhibit.

Prince August today has found out that the shipment of the new Battle of Waterloo diorama has gone missing. It was shipped via container as it is a massive 8 meters by 4 meters diorama containing 15,000 hand painted and hand cast miniatures.

We know that it left Cologne intact but when it was being transferred to a container in Rotterdam, something went wrong. The container was found empty when port officials checked them before transport today and the entire diorama, dismantled into 42 packages 1 meter square have gone missing.

Prince August is in contact with André Rudolph, its creator over an eight year period. He is shocked and dismayed at the news but hopes that the police will find some leads.
We are still not sure what the motive is for this giant theft but people should watch out for any offers of large quantities of 25mm Napoleonic metal miniatures on Ebay or Amazon over the next few days.
If you have any questions about this tragic tale please contact Michael at Prince August today.
Update April 2nd: This was a hoax.
